Budapest (Year 1/2)
Welcome to Budapest!
We're going on a dragon hunt, we're going to catch a big one. We're not scared!
Last week, we went on a dragon hunt and found some mysterious-looking fruit called dragon fruit. Could they really hatch into dragons? We searched for clues to prove that dragons are real! We found burn marks, claw marks, dragon blood, foot prints and lots more!
We have begun to look at materials in Science. So far, we have named them, found out where they come from and described their properties. We even know what transparent, translucent and opaque means! Did you know paper is made from wood, glass is made from sand and wool is from sheep?
We used our materials knowledge during outdoor learning and used scientific adjectives to describe what we found. We found acorns, which are from oak trees, which had bumpy parts and smooth parts and holly leaves which were prickly and smooth. We also found lots of conker shells, Daisy and Clio even found a conker shell that hadn't opened. It was very prickly! We learnt that conkers come from horse chesnut trees.
