Reception Open Days

These take place in the autumn term and will be updated in September.

Admissions Procedures

Pupils are admitted to Reception in accordance with the policy of Hertfordshire County Council.

Applications for September 2024 are now closed.

 

Nursery Open Morning

These will take place in Spring term 2025 and will be updated in November 2024.

In Year Open Morning

We welcome families to come and have a look around our nursery by appointment during the school day.  Please call 01279 657778 or email admin@whittington.herts.sch.uk to organise.

 

Nursery applications

Nursery pupils can start the term after they become 3 years old.

The school now deals with Nursery applications internally.  Applications can be made by clicking the nursery admissions link below.

 

Nursery pupils can attend full time (35/30 hours per week) or part time (15 hours per week). Additional hours are charged at £5 per hour.

 

If you wish to apply for a place during the school year, or transfer from another nursery, please contact the school office.

 

 

Reception applications

Reception pupils start in the September of the academic year in which they become 5 years old (the academic year runs from 1 September to 31 August).

Herts County Council will send parents a booklet about how to apply and the application process in early November.  

 

Reception pupils attend full time from 1st September.

 

In Year applications

If you wish to apply for a place during the school year, or transfer from another school, please contact Hertfordshire County Council at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk to make an application.

 

 

After Allocation Day

During the summer term, following pupil allocations, you will receive a set of admission papers from the school for completion. You will also receive an invitation for your child to spend some time with their new class during July.  Home visits are arranged for Nursery and Reception pupils.
